Springtime

I am currently working on a commission painting of a Mom and her child. I started painting out in plein air again. Today I was at Ramsey Park. Last week I hit Old Settler's Park. I will post photos tomorrow. It's good to get outside and paint again now that the weather is permitting. I'm a little rusty but getting back into plein air.

From an Article in "The Daily Texan"

“For the Love of Art” is a juried exhibition that started with more than 200 entries, which were narrowed down to the 49 works currently on display. While a majority of the featured pieces come from local artists, some entries were sent in from around the country and overseas.
One of the most striking paintings in the exhibit is “Precious Love” by Deborah Thomas.
The painting depicts two hands forming a heart with the feet of a baby cradled between them. The image depicts the unbroken bond and love between a parent and child.
Another piece, “Hot Property” by Mitzi Easley, depicts a couple peacefully sitting under an umbrella on a secluded beach with an azure ocean in the background.

Catching Bubbles

8 x 10. Oil on Panel. This is a painting I am currently working on. It's not a commission. The photo has a bright yellow back ground. I added purple, the compliment color, to dull it down a little so it doesn't take away from the face which is the focal point.

Sunny on the Beach

6 x 8 Oil on Panel. This is one of my favorite subjects. They live in Hawaii so we get a lot of beach photos. Sunny is my niece. I was supposed to be painting a 12 x 12 but this one appealed to me more.
